Student and Teacher Kits Program - Supplying the World's Classrooms:
School Supplies for Poor Children and Teachers

Millions of children around the world do not go to school because their parents cannot afford school supplies.  In many countries if a child arrives at school without their basic supplies they are turned away.  Imagine knowing education is the only way your child will have any future and you can't afford a notebook and pencil.  What a tragedy this is. 

How sad that such a simple need could be as great a barrier to education as the need for school supplies.  A child with no education is forced into a life of illiteracy... and continued poverty.

To answer this need Bless the Children organizes a vital humanitarian activity - the Student Kits Program.

The objectives of the Student Kits Program are: to help make education possible for all orphaned, abandoned and poor children; and to provide individuals a simple, yet effective, way to help create a better world.

Your donation of $15 provides one child their basic supplies for school, as well as shipping to the destination country and hand-delivery to a special child who is waiting for your help today.  (To areas where shipping is prohibitively expensive Student and Teacher supplies are purchased locally with donations.)

What about the teacher?

Imagine being a teacher in the developing world, poor yourself and responsible for obtaining all basic supplies.  The future of those in your care...in your hands.  And you have no tools.

Once, while visiting a school in Central America, a teacher showed us a simple flip chart.  It was all her government had provided her with which to teach her classes.  Not much when compared with American schools.  As well, in Africa, imagine not being able to graduate your students only because you lack the paper and pencils with which to deliver the exam.
